AI Express to start Navi Mumbai flights to Bengaluru, Delhi from Dec 25

Domestic carrier Air India Express on Friday said it will commence flight services from Navi Mumbai International Airport from December 25, with its first flight departing for Bengaluru from the newly-constructed facility. The new services from Navi Mumbai further complement Air India Express' expanding network from Bengaluru, which remains one of its key hubs, it said. Starting December 25, the first day of commercial operations at the airport, Air India Express will operate daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi, which are its two largest domestic hubs, the airline said. From January 2026, the airline said, it will operate twice-daily services on both these routes. Air India Express, the low-cost arm of Tata Group-owned Air India, recently introduced routes from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. The airline operates more than 530 weekly flights from the city, Air India Express said, adding that it also recently inaugurated .

Godrej Properties eyes ₹3,500 cr from new 30-acre Bengaluru township

Realty firm Godrej Properties has acquired a 30-acre land in South Bengaluru to develop a township with an estimated revenue of around Rs 3,500 crore. In October, the company had bought a 26-acre land parcel at Sarjapur, Bengaluru to develop a housing project with an estimated revenue of Rs 1,100 crore. In a regulatory filing on Thursday, the company informed that it has acquired an additional 3.8-acre land parcel, thereby unlocking Rs 2,400 crore of additional revenue and 2 million sq ft of additional development potential. With this acquisition, Godrej Properties Ltd plans a large-scale, premium residential community. The overall gross development value of this 30-acre township will be Rs 3,500 crore. The total development potential is 3 million sq ft area. Ericsson opens R&D unit in Bengaluru to boost 5G development

Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson on Thursday announced the establishment of a Radio Access Network (RAN) Software Research & Development (R&D) unit in Bengaluru. The facility will initially focus on developing advanced 5G features for Ericsson's 5G baseband, the company said in a statement. "Setting up the R&D Center in India for RAN software development represents a significant step towards strengthening our R&D operations in India. High alert sounded in Bengaluru after explosion near Red Fort in Delhi

In the wake of a car explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening, Bengaluru Police have issued a citywide alert and directed all deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) to intensify security measures across the city. In a memorandum, the Commissioner of Police instructed that Nakabandis (checkposts) be set up across all police station limits and thorough checks of suspicious persons and vehicles be conducted. Inspections at hotels, lodges, PG accommodations, and other places of stay within police limits must be conducted; surveillance should be kept and identities of suspicious persons verified, the memorandum said. Panel to probe lapses after videos show special treatment in Bengaluru jail

The BJP in Karnataka on Monday staged a demonstration here demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after videos purportedly showing inmates, including a terror accused, getting "special treatment" at the Bengaluru central jail, surfaced.
