Youth Congress to organise convention in Bengaluru on July 10 for members

The Indian Youth Congress will organise a programme in Bengaluru from July 10 to 12, which is likely to be attended by more than 3,000 of its office bearers from across the country, an official said on Friday. 250 Indira Canteens to come up in Bengaluru city, says Karnataka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday instructed officials to start at least 250 Indira Canteens, which provide subsidised food, with one outlet for each ward of Bengaluru. The Congress in its manifesto had promised to rejuvenate the existing canteens and extend them throughout the state. Indira Canteens, started as a pet project of Siddaramaiah, were first introduced during his earlier term as Chief Minister between 2013-18. The Chief Minister today held a meeting with top officials regarding provision of Indira Canteen service and its management. "We have held discussions to restart the Indira Canteens. One Indira Canteen has to be opened in every ward (of Bengaluru). Leasing of warehousing space in Bangaluru exceeded new supply by 55 per cent during 2018-22 period, resulting in lower vacancy level and increase in rental, according to India Sotheby's International Realty report. Property consultant India Sotheby's International Realty on Wednesday released a white paper 'Ahead of The Curve - Bengaluru Warehousing'. The IT city is likely to witness a surge in investment for development of premium warehousing park to meet growing demand for storage space from e-commerce and third-party logistics players, the paper said. The consultant has taken inputs from real estate data research company CRE Matrix in the white paper. Simple Energy begins delivery of e-scooter Simple ONE in Bengaluru

Electric vehicle maker Simple Energy has started delivering its first e-scooter Simple ONE to its customers in Bengaluru on Tuesday, almost 22 months after its unveiling. The company unveiled its maiden offering on August 15, 2021, but launched it officially on May 23 this year at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), around Rs 35,000 higher than the price it had announced at the time of pre-bookings. PVR INOX, the premium cinema exhibitor in India, on Monday announced the opening of its new 7-screen multiplex at Global Mall, Mysore Road in Bengaluru. The opening marks the sixth multisensory 4DX auditorium in Bengaluru and will augment PVR INOX presence in the city with 24 properties and 146 screens, PVR INOX said in a statement. Over 1,500 people stuck at station in Bengaluru following train mishap

More than 1,500 passengers including a large number of labourers are stranded at the Byappanahalli Railway Station here due to the cancelled trains as a fallout of the train derailment in Odisha. With a big crisis unfolding at the Byappanahalli, the labour department and the Bengaluru civic agency on Sunday arranged food, water and mobile toilets for the passengers stuck at the railway station. On the directions of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the government departments joined hands to provide basic facilities including food and water to the stranded labourers and passengers whose trains to Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and other north-eastern states have been cancelled. Vistara to start flight service on Agartala-Bengaluru route on Aug 1

Vistara will introduce a flight service between Agartala and Bengaluru on August 1, an official said on Wednesday. At present, Indigo and Akasa operate three flights on the Agartala-Bengaluru route, he said. "Vistara is scheduled to operate a flight on the Agartala-Bengaluru route from August 1. The flight will arrive here directly from Bengaluru, and on its return journey from Agartala, it will go via Guwahati. 3-day G20 Trade and Investment Working Group meet in Bengaluru from Tuesday

Three-day meeting of the Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) under India's G20 Presidency will commence on Tuesday in Bengaluru, the commerce ministry said on Monday. About 75 delegates from G20 countries, invitee countries, and regional and international organizations will participate in deliberations on finding agreed solutions on issues related to international trade and investment, it said. India assumed the presidency of G20 for one year from December 1, 2022, to November 31, 2023. The G20 Summit will be held in New Delhi on September 9-10. G20 meetings are being held across different cities, covering all 28 states and eight Union Territories of India. The meeting in Bengaluru will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash. "On the first day, a seminar is being organized which will discuss the disruptive role of technology in driving inclusive growth and resilient trade," it said.
