Temporary channel opens for vessels to Baltimore port after bridge collapse

A third temporary channel for boats to enter and depart the Port of Baltimore has opened, expanding further shipping access as collapsed sections of the Francis Scott Key Bridge are salvaged before the span can ultimately be rebuilt. The alternate channel, located to the northeast of the fallen bridge, is open to commercially essential vessels, port officials announced late Friday. The new temporary path, with a controlling depth of 20 feet (6.1 meters), a horizontal clearance of 300 feet (91.4 meters) and a vertical clearance of 135 feet (41.2 meters), allows a greater variety of vessels to access the port while crews work to reopen the main channel, Coast Guard and port Capt. David O'Connell said in a news release. With the new channel open, about 15% of pre-collapse commercial activity will resume, O'Connell said. The first temporary channel opened April 1. The bridge collapsed early March 26 after it was struck by the cargo ship Dali. Officials hope to open a channel by the end

boAt withdraws sponsorship for Canadian Punjabi singer Shubh's India tour

Consumer electronics company boAt on Tuesday said it has decided to withdraw sponsorship of Canada-based Punjabi singer Shubh's upcoming tour to India over certain remarks he made earlier this year. "At boAt, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first and foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship from the tour," the company said in a post on social media platform X. Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha has raised objections claiming that Shubh allegedly showed support for Khalistanis by posting a distorted map of Kashmir. Shubhneet Singh, popularly known as Shubh, is scheduled to perform during the Cruise Control 4.0 event in Mumbai from September 23-25. Cricketer Virat Kohli had recently unfollowed Shubh on social media app Instagram. The announcement by boAt came on a day when tensions between Canada and India flared up after Canadian Prime .

Definitely not listing this year, says boAt co-founder Gupta on IPO plans

Audio and wearables brand boAt, which had earlier deferred its public share sale plans amid stock market volatility, is "not in a hurry" to go for a listing, and is looking at FY25-FY26 timeframe for the IPO, co-founder Aman Gupta said. In an exclusive chat with PTI on wide-ranging issues, Gupta said that his startup is "well capitalised" for now. There was a phase when startup IPOs were in fashion but then the markets turned choppy, Gupta recounted. "We don't need to go for an IPO, as such. We can do that after a few years also... So, maybe FY25-FY26 is what we're looking... We're not in a hurry to list," Gupta said. boAt's listing is "definitely not this year", he added. The entrepreneur and investor whose stint with Shark Tank India has made him a household name, was among the invitees at an official delegation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recently-concluded visit to Paris.
