Rajkumar Hirani to receive Madhya Pradesh govt's Kishore Kumar Samman

Director Rajkumar Hirani, known for films such as "Munna Bhai MBBS", "3 Idiots" and "PK", will be conferred the Madhya Pradesh government's Kishore Kumar Samman for the year 2023. According to a press note from Hirani's PR team, the ceremony will be held in the legendary singer's hometown Khandwa on October 13, coinciding with his 37th death anniversary. The Culture Department of Bhopal will present the award to Hirani, whose last film was 2023's social drama "Dunki", starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. The event, set to take place at the Police Parade Ground, will also feature 'Kishore Night', a special musical tribute to Kishore Kumar by singer Neeraj Shridhar and his team. Previous recipients of the Kishore Kumar Samman include Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, and Shatrughan Sinha.

Govinda discharged from hospital four days after revolver accident

Govinda will be discharged from a hospital here on Friday, four days after the actor was injured in the leg when his revolver accidentally went off, his family said. The 60-year-old actor underwent a surgery on Tuesday and is recuperating at a private hospital. Sharing a health update with the reporters, Govinda's daughter Tina Ahuja said, "He is better. He is getting discharged today." The actor's wife, Sunita Ahuja, also told reporters that Govinda has been advised to rest for at least six weeks. "He will be discharged today. I will bring him here but he will have difficulty to stand... He is fine and will start dancing again in a few days. Everyone has prayed for him and we have the blessings of Mata rani," she said. "At home, the doctor has told him to remain on bed rest for six weeks. So, we will not allow many people because he could get infected. So, he needs to res," she added. Govinda's revolver mishap: Mumbai crime branch officials meet actor

The Mumbai crime branch personnel have met actor Govinda, who sustained leg injuries after his revolver accidentally went off, and enquired with him about the incident, officials said on Wednesday. While the local police have been conducting an investigation, the Mumbai crime branch has also initiated a parallel enquiry into the incident. No one has lodged any complaint in this matter so far, police said. The accident took place on Tuesday at the Mumbai residence of the 60-year-old actor and he is currently recuperating at a private hospital here. A crime branch team led by senior police inspector Daya Nayak visited the hospital on Tuesday and spoke to the actor about the incident, an official said. Govinda was alone when the incident took place at his residence in the early hours of Tuesday, he said.
