Tripura approves 5% DA hike; 200k employees, pensioners to benefit

The Tripura cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to increase 5 per cent DA to state government employees and pensioners with effect from November 1, a minister said. Around 2 lakh employees and pensioners will benefit from the additional 5 per cent DA taking the total dearness allowance to 30 per cent, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury told reporters. The council of ministers approved a proposal to hike DA by 5 per cent for the government employees and pensioners with effect from November 1. The state government will have to spend an additional Rs 500 crore annually for the increased DA," the minister said after the cabinet meeting. The decision was taken despite tight fiscal conditions and the government's spending of Rs 1,700 crore on restoration work after the devastating flood in the northeastern state, he said. The move to increase 5 per cent DA was aimed at reducing the gap of the dearness allowance between employees of the Centre and state government, .

Assam Cabinet approves 3% dearness allowance hike for state govt employees

The Assam Cabinet on Sunday approved 3-per cent dearness allowance (DA) hike for state government employees, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. The increase will be effective from July this year, he said. Addressing a press conference after chairing a cabinet meet here, Sarma said, With this, the total DA will be 53 per cent, which is at par with central government employees. He said the increased DA will be payable with retrospective effect from July, and the arrear amount will be paid in four equal installments with the monthly salaries from January to April next year. The employees will draw salary with revised DA from December, the CM said. The cabinet also decided to do away with the earlier provision in the Assam Tea Plantation Provident Fund scheme, which barred a tea garden worker whose monthly wage is more than Rs 15,000 from getting provident fund (PF) benefits. Govt raises minimum wage rates for workers up to Rs 1,035 per day

The Union government on Thursday announced a hike in minimum wage rates for workers up to Rs 1,035 a day by revising variable dearness allowance. This adjustment is aimed at helping workers cope with the rising cost of living, a labour ministry statement said. After revision, minimum wage rates in area 'A' for workers in construction, sweeping, cleaning, loading & unloading for unskilled work will be Rs 783 a day (Rs 20,358 per month). For semi-skilled workers, the minimum wage rate will be Rs 868 a day (Rs 22,568 per month) and for skilled, clerical and watch & wards without arms at Rs 954 a day (Rs 24,804 per month). The minimum wage rate for highly skilled and watch & ward with arms will be Rs 1,035 a day (Rs 26,910 per month). The new wage rates will take effect from October 1, 2024. Profit-making bodies asked to release DA, other arrears: Himachal CM Sukhu

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday said the profit-making boards and corporations in Himachal Pradesh have been asked to release dearness allowances and other arrears of their employees. Sukhu's announcement came after his interaction with delegations of various associations of non-gazetted employees and teachers who called on the chief minister to apprise him of their demands, a statement issued here said. Rajasthan reduces VAT on petrol, diesel; hikes DA of employees by 4%

The Rajasthan government on Thursday announced a 2 per cent reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel and a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance of employees and pensioners ahead of the general elections. Assam govt hikes DA by 4% for employees, pensioners, says CM Himanta

The Assam government has decided to hike the dearness allowance by 4 per cent for its employees and pensioners on the occasion of Rongali Bihu in April, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday. The increase in DA will be effective from January 1, and the arrears of the first three months will be paid in instalments in May, June and July respectively, Sarma said at a press conference here. The DA hike will benefit around four lakh government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners, he said. The total DA payable to the employees will now be 50 per cent, and the 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance will involve a financial outlay of around Rs 1,175 crore, Sarma said. Karnataka govt hikes dearness allowance for employees from 38.75% to 42.5%

The Karnataka government on Tuesday approved the revision of Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees from the existing 38.75 per cent to 42.5 per cent. The announcement comes weeks before the Lok Sabha elections. The DA will be revised from 46 per cent to 50 per cent for the employees drawing central pay scales, an official statement said. Arunachal govt announces additional 4% dearness allowance for its employees

The Arunachal Pradesh government has announced an additional 4 per cent dearness allowance (DA) for its employees, officials said on Tuesday. The hike, effective from January 1, will benefit 68,818 state government employees and 33,200 pensioners, they said. With this hike, the DA for employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners has reached 50 per cent. The state has to spend an additional Rs 124.20 crore per year for this, they added. "Under the guidance of Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, our double-engine sarkar is committed to the welfare of all citizens, including those dedicated to delivering government services," Chief Minister Pema Khandu posted on X.
