Uttarakhand govt increases DA of employees by 42% to 46% per month

The Uttarakhand government has increased the Dearness Allowance of its employees under the seventh pay commission from 42 per cent per month to 46 per cent, according to an order issued here. The revised DA will be applicable with effect from July 1, 2023, and arrears will be paid to beneficiaries in cash, it said. From January 1, 2024, onwards, the revised DA will be paid to the employees along with their salaries every month, the order said. This will apply to state government employees and regularised and full-time employees of aided educational and technical education institutes, it added.

CM Banerjee announces 4% DA hike for WB govt employees from Jan 1

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced that her government would be giving a four per cent raise in dearness allowance (DA) to all its employees from New Year's Day. Banerjee made the announcement while speaking at the inauguration of the Kolkata Christmas Carnival 2023 at Allen Park in Park Street area of the city. "I announce that all 14 lakh state government employees, teaching and non-teaching staff of all schools, colleges and universities, and employees of all statutory undertakings and parastatals and pensioners would be getting another instalment of 4 per cent DA from January 1, 2024," Banerjee said. Stating that the provision of DA is mandatory for the central government whereas it is "optional" for the state, Banerjee said that for the DA hike, her government would have to bear an additional expense of Rs 2,400 crore. Punjab CM announces 4% dearness allowance hike for govt employees

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance of government employees with effect from the ongoing month. Following the hike, the DA will increase to 38 per cent, Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU) President Amrik Singh said. A decision in this regard was taken following a meeting with the representatives of the PSMSU here. During the meeting, Mann discussed various demands of the employees. "Had a meeting with the representatives of Punjab State Ministerial Service Union today and discussed their issues in detail... Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday announced a four per cent hike in Dearness Allowance for government employees with retrospective effect from July 1, 2023. The move is set to benefit about 16 lakh state government employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners, entailing an additional, annual expenditure of Rs 2546.16 crore, an official release here said. The Chief Minister has ordered increasing the DA from the present 42 to 46 per cent from July 1 this year.

Railway Board announces 4% hike in dearness allowance for employees

The Railway Board has revised the dearness allowance for its employees from 42 per cent to 46 per cent of the basic pay effective from July 1, 2023. The Board circulated a written communication dated October 23, 2023, to the General Managers and Chief Administrative Officers of All India Railways and Production Units stating, "...the President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Allowance payable to Railway Employees shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 42% to 46% of the Basic Pay with effect from 1st July, 2023." It defined the 'Basic Pay' as the pay drawn as per 7th CPC recommendation accepted by the government, "but doesn't include any other time of pay like special pay etc." The Board's announcement comes five days after the Union Cabinet approved an around Rs 15,000 cr bonus, that included a 4 per cent hike in DA for government employees. Centre may hike dearness allowance by 3% to 45% for its 10 mn employees

The central government is likely to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for its over one crore employees and pensioners by three percentage points to 45 per cent from the existing 42 per cent as per the agreed formula for the purpose. The dearness allowance for employees and pensioners is worked out on the basis of the latest Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) brought out by the Labour Bureau every month. The Labour Bureau is a wing of the Labour Ministry. Talking to PTI, All India Railwaymen Federation General Secretary Shiva Gopal Mishra said, "The CPI-IW for June 2023 was released on July 31, 2023. We are demanding a four percentage point hike in dearness allowance. But the dearness allowance hike works out to be a little over three percentage points. MP hikes DA for staffers to 42% with retrospective effect from Jan 1

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday said his government would give 42 per cent dearness allowance (DA) to its employees like the Centre with retrospective effect from January 1. It will benefit more than seven lakh government employees, officials said. "We have taken a lot of revolutionary steps in the interest of employees. Now, we have decided to give 42 per cent DA (with a hike of 4 per cent) like the Centre from January itself, the Chief Minister tweeted. The arrears from January to June on account of this hike will be given in three installments, he said, adding that all employees under the Sixth Pay Scale will also see a proportional increase in DA. In a video message, the CM said employees who have put in 35 years of service as on July 1 this year will be given fourth time pay scale. The measures from the BJP government come amid the Congress promising to implement Old Pension Scheme if it wins the year-end Assembly polls.

Raj govt approves DA hike for employees, pensioners in 5th pay commission

Employees and pensioners working under the Fifth Pay Commission in Rajasthan will get an increased dearness allowance from January 2023. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal in this regard, an official statement said. According to the proposal, an increase in the rate of dearness allowance has been approved for state employees and pensioners working under the Fifth Pay Commission and Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1998. Odisha hikes Dearness Allowance of govt employees, pensioners by 4%

The Odisha government on Tuesday announced a four per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners. The DA for employees and pensioners has been increased to 42 per cent from the existing 38 per cent. Karnataka govt enhances dearness allowance of its employees from 31% to 35%

The Karnataka government on Tuesday enhanced the rates of the dearness allowance to the government employees and pensioners from the existing 31 per cent to 35 per cent with effect from January 1, 2023'. The Basic Pension or Family Pension has also been increased, which will also be applicable to those pensioners in the Aided Educational Institutions whose Pension/ Family Pension is paid out of the Consolidated Fund of the State. Haryana govt hikes dearness allowance by 4% for state govt employees

The Haryana government has announced a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for the state government employees, who are drawing their pay as per the seventh pay commission structure.
