5 Glock pistols, 90 bullets dropped by Pak drone recovered by BSF in Punjab

Five Austria-made Glock pistols and more than 90 rounds of different calibre bullets dropped by a Pakistani drone were recovered by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday from along the International Border in Punjab, officials said. The dropping of the weapons and ammunition took place in Metla area of Gurdaspur sector around 2:30 am. The "infiltrating rogue" drone was fired upon by our troops and later during search of the area a packet was recovered from the field, a BSF spokesperson said. Officials said the cache contained five Glock pistols, ten magazines and 91 rounds. Security agencies suspect the consignment was meant for Khalistani separatist groups in the border state. The Glock is a sophisticated semi-automatic pistol that is used by counter-terrorist forces like the National Security Guard (NSG) and other commando teams. In a first, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will use drones to survey properties in the city's industrial areas for tax assessment, officials said on Tuesday. This will help in verifying details submitted by residents of their properties while paying tax, an MCD official said. The MCD has invited bids to conduct a drone-based survey through an agency for the purpose of tax assessment. The last date to submit a bid is March 16. This will be the first time that the MCD will be utilising drones to survey properties falling in industrial areas in the national capital. On a pilot basis, a survey was carried out in Mohan Cooperative Industrial Area on Mathura Road last year, an MCD official, associated with the project, told PTI. Union minister of civil aviation on Tuesday said the applicability of drone in the agriculture sector is beyond pesticide spraying and has tremendous scope in organic and natural farming as well.
