Indian model Akshara Reddy is all set to represent India at the international beauty pageant -- Miss Super World Globe 2019. The event is scheduled to take place in October in Dubai.The only contestant from Tamil Nadu overwhelmingly shared her experience and said, "I was the only contestant from Tamil Nadu and I won the crown. 134 foreign animals rescued from illegal zoo
Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Saturday raided a zoo here and rescued 134 foreign animals, allegedly brought into the country illegally. On a tip-off, DRI officials raided the zoo located in Malharganj area, run illegally by the NGO Karuna Sagar, an official release said. Creatures found in the zoo included a South American Marmoset, Australian Iguanas, a Persian cat, Red Eared Singapore Slider Turtle, North American Alligator Gar, South American Guinea Pig and South American Macaw. The rescued animals, birds and reptiles were shifted to Kamala Nehru Zoo in the city. The NGO which was running the zoo could not present legal documents related to import or purchase of these foreign animals, the DRI release alleged, adding that appropriate legal action will be taken against it.

Nepali teen dances for continuous 126-hour to set new world record
A Nepali teenager danced continuously for 126 hours to set a Guinness World Records on 'Longest Dancing Marathon by an Individual', a feat previously hold by an Indian. At a function held in his official residence here on Saturday, Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli honoured the 18-year-old girl, Bandana Nepal, for achieving the feat. Talking to PTI, Bandana, a resident of Dhankuta district in eastern Nepal, said she received the official confirmation from the Guinness Records on Friday. Bandana beat the record set by Kalamandalam Hemlatha, who danced continuously for 123 hours and 15 minutes in 2011.
Japan's emperor greets public for 1st time since succession

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro cancelled a trip to New York Friday after several companies pulled out of an event where he was to be honoured. Arakkal Beevi dies in Kerala
Adiraja Sultana Fathima Muthu Beevi, the head of erstwhile Arakkal royal family, died at her residence in Thalassery here Saturday owing to age-related ailments. She was 86. Wife of late C P Kunjahammed Ilaya, Muthu Beevi is survived by daughter Adiraja Khadeeja Sophia, family sources said, adding that the funeral would be held later in the day. Arakkal was the lone Muslim royal family in Kerala that had once ruled the Cannanore (present Kannur) and southern Lakshadweep. As per the tradition, the female heads of the Arakkal royals are known as 'Arakkal Beevis'. Fathima Muthu Beevi became the 39th head of the dynasty, following the death of her sister Sultana Arakkal Adiraja Zainaba Aysha Beevi last year. As the royal head, Beevi had acted as the patron of several heritage institutions including the famed Arakkal Museum here.
