Security was beefed up around the Indian High Commission here on Monday and Scotland Yard detained one person in connection with vandalism at the mission by Khalistan supporters a day earlier as India asked the UK to quickly arrest and prosecute those involved in the attack. The tricolour flying atop the Indian High Commission in London was grabbed at by the protesters waving separatist Khalistan flags and chanting pro-Khalistan slogans on Sunday. After the incident, police arrested one person related to the violent disorder. In New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said on Monday that India has asked the UK to quickly arrest and prosecute those involved in pulling down the Indian flag at its mission in London. Indian embassy in Ukraine asks citizens to leave immediately amid hostility

In a fresh advisory, the Indian embassy in Ukraine on Tuesday asked all Indians there to leave the country immediately in view of increasing hostilities. The new advisory came less than a week after a similar advisory was issued following the deteriorating security situation in Ukraine. "In continuation of the advisory issued by the embassy on October 19, all Indian citizens in Ukraine are advised to immediately leave Ukraine by available means," the embassy said. It said some Indian nationals have already left Ukraine pursuant to the earlier advisory. The embassy has asked the Indian nationals to contact it for any guidance or assistance to travel to the Ukrainian border for exiting the country. Indian embassy in China asks returning students to re-join colleges

As Indian students stuck at home due to COVID travel ban started returning gradually to re-join their colleges in China after Beijing began issuing visas, the Indian Embassy here on Friday asked them to register with the mission to ensure timely facilitation of their consular needs. Over 23,000 Indian students, mostly studying medicine, are reportedly stuck back home due to COVID visa restrictions. China began issuing visas for students who obtain permits from their Chinese colleges and universities to return to take up their studies. But they find it hard to travel to China as both countries have yet to resume flight services. Indian embassy in Kyiv advises Indians to avoid all non-essential travel

Concerned over the escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, India on Monday advised its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine and asked them to strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the local authorities. The advisory comes hours after Russia carried out strikes against multiple Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv. Police said at least 10 people were killed and around 60 others were wounded in the attacks across Ukraine. "In view of the current escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine. They must strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the Ukrainian government and local authorities," the advisory issued by the Indian Embassy in Kyiv said. Indian, French officials celebrate International Day of Non-Violence in SA

The Indian and French Consulates here jointly hosted an event to mark International Day of Non-Violence, held on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The event was hosted at Satyagraha House, the first residence of Gandhi during his stay in the city at the turn of the last century.
