Arunachal Pradesh governor asks students to set up startups, provide jobs

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig Dr B D Mishra (Retd) asked students to set up startups and become job providers, instead of running after government jobs. Addressing the 19th convocation of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here on Tuesday, the governor said that agriculture and its related work fields provide good opportunities for startup. Mishra said if the students are determined and willing to respect the dignity of work and labour, there is a big scope everywhere for good livelihood. He advised them to acquire merit and not bribe for their mission accomplishment. Always abide by law and be a man of cent per cent humane virtues, he stressed. Tech company UST to hire 6,000 employees for Bengaluru centre in 2 yrs

Technology company UST on Tuesday said it plans to double the number of employees at its Bengaluru centre to 12,000 in the next two years. The company announced that it has crossed the 6,000 employees mark here. "In line with the company's accelerated growth strategy, UST Bengaluru centre plans to double the number of employees to 12,000 by 2023", it said in a statement. In the next 18-24 months, the Bengaluru centre will hire freshers (entry-level engineering graduates) and experienced engineers for various roles focusing on products and services for healthcare, technology, logistics, semiconductors, and BFSI (Banking and Financial Services and Insurance) clients, it said. UPSC launches helpline for govt job aspirants from EWS, backward classes

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday launched a toll-free helpline to help government job aspirants from economically weaker sections and backward classes among others. The UPSC conducts civil services examination to select the country's bureaucrats, diplomats and police officers among others and also holds other tests to recruit government officers. "This initiative is also a part of the commission's endeavour of undertaking queries of such candidates in a friendly manner," the UPSC said in a statement. The helpline will remain operational on all working days during the office hours, it said. The initiative is part of celebrations under the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. The commission has opened a helpline, toll free number 1800118711, with the objective to assist candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Perso
