Haryana assembly passes bill on 75% job quota in pvt sector for locals

The Haryana Assembly on Thursday passed a bill to give 75 per cent reservation in private sector jobs to youth from the state, an election promise made by ruling alliance partner Jannayak Janta Party. The Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Bill, 2020 provides a 75 per cent job quota for local people in private sector jobs which offer a salary of less than Rs 50,000 a month. It applies to private companies, societies, trusts and partnership firms, among others, located in the state. The state governor has to give assent to the bill before it becomes law. The Bill was tabled by Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala in the state assembly here.

Goa govt to tie-up with industry body to tap private job avenues: CM Sawant

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said his government will tie-up with the states apex industry body to generate job opportunities in the private sector for local youths. Sawant said the state government, for the first time, has shared Employment Exchange data with the private sector to enable industries to recruit the best professionals available in Goa. Talking to PTI, the Chief Minister said at least 250 youths were gainfully employed in the private sector during the last 3 to 4 months through the state's Employment Exchange. He said youths registered with the Employment Exchange will get career counselling from the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) which will also help them get jobs under a tie-up with the government.
