Germany approves legislation easing deportations of rejected asylum seekers

The German parliament on Thursday approved legislation that is intended to ease deportations of unsuccessful asylum-seekers as Chancellor Olaf Scholz seeks to defuse migration as a political problem. The legislation foresees increasing the maximum length of pre-deportation custody from 10 to 28 days and specifically facilitating the deportation of people who are members of a criminal organisation. It also authorises residential searches for documentation that enables officials to firmly establish a person's identity, as well as remove authorities' obligation to give advance notice of deportations in some cases. Neoliv to raise $150 mn AIF to take residential bets; 360 One funds

Neoliv, a residential real estate funding and development platform, on Friday said it intends to raise up to USD 150 million in an alternate investment fund. The platform has secured an approval of Category II AIF from capital markets regulator Sebi under which it intends to raise USD 150 million including a USD 60 million green-shoe option, a statement said. Former chief executive and managing director of Godrej Properties, Mohit Malhotra, has founded the platform which will be focusing on middle-income housing projects in Delhi-National Capital Region and Mumbai, the statement said. Housing sales up 41% in July-Sept period across 7 cities: Anarock Report

Sales of residential properties increased 41 per cent to 88,234 units in July-September this year across seven major cities, property consultant Anarock said on Friday. The housing brokerage firm released its quarterly data of seven major cities -- Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. As per the data, housing sales rose 41 per cent to 88,234 units in the third quarter (July-September) of 2022, from 62,799 units in the year-ago period. New launches increased 45 per cent to 93,490 units from 64,560 units in these seven cities. "The momentum of both housing sales and new launches stayed strong in the top 7 cities in Q3 2022 despite major headwinds. The appetite for homeownership has remained undeterred, with maximum sales being driven by end-users," Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said.
