The number of registered unorganised workers on e-Shram portal is all set to hit the 10-crore mark this week with total enrolments nearing 9.7 crore, as per latest data. The Ministry of Labour & Employment has developed e-Shram portal -- a national database of the unorganised workers seeded with Aadhaar. The portal was launched on August 26, 2021. The portal showed that as many as 13.97 lakh workers registered on Sunday, while the number was 14.95 lakh on Saturday. Thus, the enrolments can hit the 10-crore mark this week itself, considering that on an average 10 lakh workers are getting registered on a single day.
