Chennai, May 01 (ANI): One passenger died and nine others were injured in a bomb blast at an express train that was stationed off platform number nine at the Chennai Central Railway Station on Thursday. Police teams have arrived at the spot to conduct an investigation as to what caused the blast on the train that was about to leave the station. The railway station platform, has been cordoned off.
New Delhi, April 30 (ANI): Delhi High Court on Wednesday adjourned any further hearing in alleged illegal land deals of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law, Robert Vadra, till May 13, after completion of general elections, citing that any judgment might influence the voters. The order came after the petitioner, ML Sharma, who filed the public interest litigation (PIL) seeking investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the various land deals made by Vadra, himself requested the court to adjourn the proceedings. Sharma said in the court that any judgment by court would tilt voters either towards Bharatiya Janata Party or towards Congress.
New Delhi, April 30 (ANI): Political parties welcomed Election Commission's move wherein the Commission asked the Gujarat police to file an FIR against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that its incumbent for the EC to take such an action. AAP leader Prashant Bhushan also welcomed the move and said that it is not for the first time that BJP has done something like this. He said that BJP do not care about the poll panel and that he should be banned from future election campaign. Modi had delivered a political speech holding his party sign after casting his vote in Ahmedabad.
Samastipur, April 30 (ANI): BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday tried to woo voters in Bihar's Samastipur. Modi referred to the blasts in Patna on 27 October when he was in the state and said that only God saved him in the incident where many political servants lost their lives. He then took a dig at RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and said that RJD has an alliance with Congress in Bihar but it is not publicized because Congress is scared that if Lalu's relations with Congress are revealed Congress will be removed from the entire nation.

She said that Rahul worked for the transportation upgradation, education, welfare of women, and in many other sectors. Hyderabad, April 30 (ANI): Actor-turned politician K Chiranjeevi, made an embarrassing retreat after he was reprimanded by a voter for jumping the queue along with his family to cast vote on Wednesday in the ongoing general elections. Union Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi, along with his family, walked passed a long queue of voters in Hyderabad. An agitated voter, Kartiken, who had come all the way from London and was waiting for more than an hour to cast vote, instantly objected and asked him sarcastically whether he needed a special treatment. It even became more embarrassing for the actor when other voters started clapping and cheering Kartiken.

Chhattisgarh/ Himachal Pradesh/ New Delhi, April 30 (ANI): BJP's Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who invoked sentiments in the name of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra while campaigning in Himachal Pradesh, said he was deeply hurt with the criticism and distortion of his remark by political opponents. Earlier on Tuesday, Modi was addressing an election rally in Palampur, the hometown of the Kargil war hero when he referred to Batra's catch-phrase of "Yeh Dil Maange More" (the heart wants more) to seek votes for all four seats from Himachal Pradesh in the ongoing parliamentary polls. However, his remark evoked criticism from political opponents and from late Captain Batra's parents. The late soldier's father, G L Batra, condemned the remark made by Modi. Vikram Batra's mother, Kamal Kanta, is fighting the parliamentary election from Hamirpur constituency in Himachal Pradesh under the banner of the Aam Aadmi Party.
