Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 14 (ANI): Kerala Minister for Health, Social Justice and Woman and Child Development Shailaja Teacher after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on extension of lockdown till May 3, said that the southern state will strategize its plan. "Kerala will strategize its action plan to implement the extended lockdown. COVID-19 cases are coming down in the state which is very positive sign but we can't say everything is over. We have to follow the stringent action," said Minister Shailaja.
Srinagar, Apr 14 (ANI): A road from Natipora to Nowgam in Srinagar has been sealed by the district administration amid coronavirus lockdown. The road was sealed after it was declared a 'red zone'. Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 14 (ANI): Indore in Madhya Pradesh has been witnessing surge in COVID-19 cases in past few weeks. "Total number of cases in Indore stand at 411," informed Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Praveen Jadiya. More than half of the cases in Madhya Pradesh (604) are from Indore.

We have made the criteria more stringent now. Earlier an area used to be declared a 'Red Zone' if 10 or more positive cases were found there. Now, if three cases are found in an area it will be declared a 'Red Zone' and contained." "We haven't received the rapid testing kits yet. There is a great need for them. The central govt is about to receive the kits which have been imported, then we will get too. We will start working with it, the day we receive it," The Delhi Health Minister further added.

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): Human Rights activist Gautam Navlakha on April 14 surrendered before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the Bhima Koregaon violence matter. Earlier, the Supreme Court had refused to extend his plea due to COVID-19 outbreak. Navlakha is one of the five activists, who were arrested for alleged involvement in Bhima Koregaon violence that happened on 2 January, 2018.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 14 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 14, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avinash Awasthi informed that multiple social media accounts have been blocked in action against fake news amid coronavirus outbreak. Awasthi said, "17,585 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered and 22,632 vehicles seized for violation of coronavirus lockdown. 404 FIRs have been registered for black marketing and hoarding and legal actions have been taken against 506 persons. In action against fake news- 12 TikTok, 7 Facebook, 2 Twitter and 1 WhatsApp accounts have been blocked."
New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital on April 14 amid coronavirus pandemic, the scientist of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr Raman R Gangakhedkar said, "We yesterday (April 13) mentioned that we have kits that could last for six weeks. We have received another installment for RT-PCR kits which are far more sufficient in numbers, which would essentially mean that we would be able to cover ourselves for a long period of time." "Additionally, we are ordering close to about 33 lakh kits for RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) and 37 lakh rapid kits are expected to come at any point in time," he added.

While speaking to ANI, DK Shivakumar said, "We respect whatever direction he has given and we are ready to cooperate. But it is very unfortunate and is shocking to all of us. We expected an economic package. We wanted economic strength to the country, strength to the farmers, strength to the labourers. We agree on all health issues and we respect the sentiments, his concerns. But at the same time, the people of this country want to be very stable on economic front. No packages, incentives or policies have been announced. This is unfortunate."
Guwahati (Assam), Apr 14 (ANI): Traffic Police personnel in Assam's Guwahati celebrated 'Rongali Bihu' amid coronavirus lockdown. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. Cops were seen singing and dancing on traditional folk songs. Rongali Bihu is also called as 'Xaat Bihu' or 'Bohag Bihu' which is celebrated to mark the beginning of the Assamese New Year. While speaking to ANI, the ASI (Traffic) of Dispur Police Station, Imran Hussain said, "We extend our greetings to everyone on the occasion. Please stay at home in this lockdown. If we stay healthy only then will we be able to celebrate Bihu." There are total 31 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Assam. Ludhiana (Punjab), Apr 14 (ANI): Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bharat B Ashu informed there is enough sufficient stock to supply to entire country. "The government will procure 135 lakh metric tonnes of wheat crop in the coming one and a half months. Around 40 lakh metric tonnes of rice will also be delivered to us. We have sufficient stock to supply to the entire country," said Bharat B Ashu. New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India remained shut on Tuesday on account of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti. Wholesale commodity markets including metal and bullion were also closed. There was no trading activity in foreign exchange and commodity futures markets as well. A day earlier, the BSE SandP Sensex closed 470 points or 1.51 per cent lower at 30,690 while the Nifty 50 tumbled by 118 points or 1.3 per cent at 8,994. Meanwhile, Asian stocks bounced on hopes the coronavirus outbreak may be peaking. However, market sentiment was cautious ahead of the Chinese trade data and corporate earnings as investors worried about a deep global recession. Chinese shares started firm with the blue-chip index up by 0.7 per cent while South Korea's Kospi and Japan's Nikkei each gained by 1.4 per cent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 0.2 per cent. That left MSCI's broadest index of Asia Pacific shares excluding Japan up by 0.6 per cent.
