Amritsar (Punjab), Apr 10 (ANI): Amid coronavirus outbreak, a police station in Amritsar was sanitized on April 10. Police personnel are working round the clock to make sure people stay at home and follow government's guidelines. Till now, 132 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Punjab. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced on April 10 that the curfew in the state will continue to May 01.
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): As the coronavirus crisis grips the nation, the safety and security of the 'corona-warriors' at the frontline is of adequate importance. While the shortage of PPEs is in the light, a youth from the national capital understood the need of the hour and developed a protective gear at his home. 20-year -old Udit Kakar is manufacturing face shields at his home through 3D printers. Speaking to ANI, Kakar said, "I am currently manufacturing face shields at home and I got this idea two weeks back as my mother required these face shields in the hospital as there was some shortage. I got design filed online through some sources as designers in various countries have started taking this initiative. I started printing these in Delhi currently and I wanted to make these available to as many doctors as possible." These face shields are used to protect the health workers from direct splatter from cough and sneezes.
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Amid growing cases of coronavirus in the national capital, Delhi administration began sanitization drive in several parts of the city. The areas were sanitizied through drones. The step has been taken to combat the spread of virus. Sanitization drive through drone would help in maintaining subtle distance between workers and locals. The drone will also help in identifying the sick person, if any in that locality. A total of 898 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Delhi as of now.
Pune (Maharashtra), Apr 10 (ANI): Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) announced an insurance cover of Rs 1 crore to its health workers and other employees amid COVID-19 outbreak. Pune Mayor, Murlidhar Mohol said, "Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to provide an insurance cover of Rs 1 crore to its health workers and other employees who are rendering essential services during coronavirus pandemic. We took this step to encourage them and to secure their future."

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Due to the shortage of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE), Indo-Tibetan Border Police is preparing PPE kits at its SS Battalion Centre in New Delhi's Saboli. PPEs will be made available to second line health and administration workers at quarantine centre and Unit Hospital. PPE is priced at Rs 100 and triple layered mask at less than Rs 2. Meanwhile, in last 48 hours, about 1487 COVID-19 cases reported across the country according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Hubli (Karnataka), Apr 10 (ANI): Three Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers in Hubli, have alleged that few people snatched their documents during a health survey over COVID-19 in Gavaligalli area. Police reached at the spot and interrogated about the incident. Speaking about the incident, Deputy CMO of Hubli, S Dandappanavar said, "The police is cooperating, and the issue will be resolved."

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Chief Medical and Health Officer of Indore, Dr Praveen Jadiya informed that a 65-year-old local doctor has died due to COVID-19 in the city. He said, "A 65-year-old local doctor has died due to COVID-19 in Indore. He might get infected after coming to contact with some positive patients. Three more men have tested positive posthumously, taking total number of deaths to 27 and cases to 235."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Amid the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Lav Agrawal said that on the basis of the samples collected, the infection rate is not high. "Yesterday, we conducted 16,002 tests, only 2 percent cases tested positive out of these tests. On the basis of the samples collected the infection rate is not high," said Lav Agrawal, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, while addressing the routine health bulletin in the wake of pandemic coronavirus.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Principal Health Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Amit Mohan Prasad told that state will test more people once ICMR will approve the labs. He said, "A total of 40 districts are affected with COVID-19. Some more labs will be approved by ICMR for COVID-19 testing. These will soon start functioning. These labs will help us to test more people at once. We have been testing over 1,000 samples per day for the past two days which will be increased to 1,500 testing per day in Uttar Pradesh."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): In a press conference held in Delhi on April 10, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, Punya Salila Srivastava told that security is tightened at the borders and no cross-border movement will be allowed. She said, "In view of the ensuing festivals in the month of April 2020, MHA has directed all States/UTs to ensure strict compliance of lockdown measures to fight COVID19." She further said, "Home Minister has held a review meeting over security at Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh borders with the border security officials. He ordered to tighten security especially in the areas where there is no fencing and not to allow any cross-border movement."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): In a press conference held in Delhi on April 10, MEA's AS and Coordinator of COVID-19, Dammu Ravi said "We have evacuated 20,473 foreign nationals as of yesterday. This is an ongoing process. We are receiving excellent cooperation. This is all government effort." He further said, "A lot of requests on Hydroxychloroquine were already there. Several countries have made requests for this particular item and taking into view the domestic necessities and keeping a sufficient buffer for our own requirement, a decision was taken by a group of ministers to release some of the surplus medicine for export purposes. This is an ongoing process."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): The Health Ministry has confirmed no community transmission in the country yet. However, the Health Ministry has also requested people to remain aware and alert. "There are no community transmission in the country yet, no need to panic; but remain aware and alert," said Joint Secretary of Health Ministry on being asked about Indian Council of Medical research (ICMR) recent study that hinted community transmission. According to the study published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research (IJMR) of the Indian Council of Medical research (ICMR) the tests conducted on 5,911 Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) patients, 104 (1.8 percent) tested positive for Covid-19. Of these, 40 did not have a history of travel outside India or contact with a known Covid-19 case or someone with international travel.
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (ANI): Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh said that experts have told that coronavirus will peak in mid September. In a video conference, Singh said, "The figures that I have been given by Indian scientists and medical practitioners are that 80-85 percent of India may get infected, if these figures are correct then they are horrendous figures. In Punjab, 27 cases are there with no travel history, yes it can be said that most of them are cases of community transmission. We have very senior and top class medical officers who have said they expect it will peak in mid September, at the point when 58 percent of population can be infected."
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh said that the only good thing that has happened is that drugs supply line has broken. In a video conference with mediapersons, Singh said, "I can tell you one thing, the only good thing that has come out of COVID-19 is that drugs supply line has broken. We are happy, we have a task force working on it. I have been informed that the supply line of the drugs has been broken and the smuggling is no longer happening."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): The pandemic COVID-19 has led to decrease in blood donation; the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, while addressing a review meeting with state ministers of health on COVID-19 via video conferencing, urged people to donate blood. He said, "COVID-19 has led to decrease in blood donations, we have decided that to promote blood donation, wherever possible, we take blood from the donors at their home or by facilitating them from home and invite them to donate blood." Harsh Vardhan also requested health ministers of all states to ensure that lockdown is followed 100 percent in their respective states.
Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 10(ANI): Doctors and healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 ward of Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital in Chennai have been staying inside the campus after completing their work, in order to prevent any possibility of spread of coronavirus to their family members. Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, Dean Dr K. Vasanthamani says, "Doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff working in the main COVID-19 ward of college have been given the required protection gear like Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) andN95 masks. Still they are staying back in order to protect their families."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Cricketer-turned-politician and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gautam Gambhir donated 1000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits to Lok Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital to fight against pandemic coronavirus. While talking to ANI, Gautam Gambhir said, "I donated 1000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits for LNJP as per my promise to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. I am ready to donate more PPE to other hospitals also; the doctors are real hero in this war against the pandemic." Cricketer made this donation via his foundation. He also welcomed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's decisions of seizing the hotspots of COVID-19.
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (ANI): Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh confirmed 132 coronavirus cases in the state of which 11 have died so far. Amarinder Singh said, "Total 2,877 samples have been tested but the problem is that with a state of 28 million people, 2,877 tests are not much." He further informed that new kits and testing sources will be given to the state soon.
