Government of India imposed nationwide lockdown till April 14 amid COVID-19.

Corona situation under control so far, but can't predict future: Jharkhand Finance Minister

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Apr 09 (ANI): Jharkhand Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon on April 08 said the coronavirus situation is not fearful in the state, but it's difficult to predict the future. Jharkhand has so far recorded only four cases of coronavirus, despite being one of the poorest states and largely poor population. Oraon added that if the lockdown will extend beyond April 14, then it would bring economic difficulties due to which the daily wage earners and farmers will be hit the most.

Essential services will be delivered to homes in hotspot areas: Noida Authority CEO

Noida (UP), Apr 09 (ANI): Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari informed that authorised vendors are being marked in hotspot areas and essential services will be available at door step to the locals. "All the essential services specially fruits, vegetables, medicines and groceries will be available need not to panic. Door step delivery will be made available to you by the Noida Authority through authorized vendors. IVR service is available in non-sealed areas but hotspot areas of lockdown specially vendors are being marked, which will be available in your sector. Your required service will not be hampered," said Maheshwari after Noida administration decided to completely sealed 22 hotspot areas amid coronavirus scare.

Fire breaks out at KGMU Trauma centre in Lucknow

Lucknow (UP), Apr 09 (ANI): A fire broke out at lift lobby on the second floor of KGMU Trauma centre in Lucknow on April 08. Fire was later doused off with the help of fire tenders. No casualties or injuries were reported yet. Further details are awaited. Entire nation is under lockdown amid coronavirus outbreak.

Air Force ready for any contingency within or outside country: AVM Surat Singh

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Space) Air Vice Marshal Surat Singh on Wednesday said that the Air Force is ready to tackle any contingency that may arise both within and outside the country amid the coronavirus lockdown. "We had sent our aircraft first to Wuhan and then Iran to bring back our people. Then to support the Maldives in terms of medical supplies, we had sent an aircraft there under Operation Sanjeevani. We have also supplied material to Nepal. We are ready to tackle any contingency both within and outside the country," Singh told ANI here. He said that the Air Force is fully prepared and have all the resources in order to meet its critical capabilities and at the same time giving support to the nation in order to fight the coronavirus pandemic. New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Delhi government made facial masks compulsory for anyone stepping out of their house throughout the state. Giving out information, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "Facial masks have made compulsory for anyone stepping out of their house throughout Delhi. Some positive cases have been reported in Sadar area so the area has been sealed. Total 20 hotspots have been identified in Delhi, nobody will be allowed to enter or exit from these areas."

ITBP spares 200-bed hospital exclusively for COVID-19 cases: DG Deswal

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): DG of ITBP, SS Deswal told that ITBP has converted a 200-bed hospital in Greater Noida for corona patient. He said, "Quarantine center was basically built to keep all the evacuated Indians from China, Italy and Iran. Those who tested negative have sent back to their homes. The camp has a capacity to keep 1,000 people at once. In addition to it, ITBP also has a 200-bed hospital in Greater Noida. After evacuating the patients from there, the MHA has dedicated it to the corona. I will visit quarantine centers as essential service staff are there and it is important to meet them. I will visit hospital in Noida tomorrow and would also meet officials, doctors and jawans there. We would try to fulfill all their needs as soon as possible."

30% of salary of Goa MLAs will deduct for COVID state fund: CM Pramod Sawant

Panaji (Goa), Apr 08 (ANI): Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant said that Goa cabinet ministry has decided to deduct 30% of the salary of state MLAs. He said, "In the cabinet meeting, talks were done regarding the regularisation of some issues related to Public Works Department (PWD). There will be a transfer of one land for the home department for the police stations. 30% of the salary deductions would take place for one year from the salary of BJP MLAs and independent MLA of Goa and 30% of the salary would go in COVID state fund."

Lucknow (UP), Apr 08 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avinash Awasthi on April 06 informed about the hotspots of COVID-19 in the state. He said, "There are 22 hotspots in Agra,13 in Ghaziabad,12 in Gautam Budh Nagar,12 in Kanpur,4 in Varanasi,3 in Shamli,7 in Meerut,1 in Bareilly,3 in Bulandshahr,3 in Basti,3 in Firozabad,4 in Saharanpur,4 in Maharajganj,1 in Sitapur and 8 big and 4 small in Lucknow." There have been 343 cases of coronaviryus in Uttar Pradesh.

Home delivery to be allowed in districts: UP Chief Secretary on 15 districts to be sealed

Lucknow (UP), Apr 08 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on April 08 gave information about sealing 15 districts of the state. Registered construction workers to get cash benefits in 31 states/UTs: Home Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): In a press conference, Joint Secretary of Home Ministry, Saheli Ghosh Roy informed that cash benefits will be provided to registered construction workers in 31 states and Union Territories. She said, "In 31 states/Union Territories, cash benefits of Rs.1000 to Rs.6000 have been announced for registered construction workers under Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Cess Fund. Rs. 3000 crores have been given to 2 crore registered construction workers till now."
