Jamnagar (Gujarat), May 10 (ANI): Another Oxygen Express carrying liquid medical oxygen containers to reach Delhi amid oxygen crisis in the national capital. So far it is the heaviest Oxygen Express as it carries 225 MT of liquid oxygen. Oxygen Express in an initiative by Indian Railways to transport liquid oxygen to the states in need in this fight against pandemic.

COVID: IAF airlifts oxygen containers from Singapore, Bangkok to Bengal

Bangkok (Thailand) / Singapore, May 07 (ANI): India continued to battle against 2nd wave of COVID-19 and amid it, Indian Air Force (IAF) IL-76 airlifted 3 cryogenic oxygen containers from Singapore to Panagarh Air Base in West Bengal. Similarly, IAF's C-17 aircraft has airlifted 4 cryogenic oxygen containers from Bangkok to Panagarh Air base. The requirement of medical oxygen has soared in the country amid COVID crisis.

Flight carrying medical supplies from Netherlands arrives in Delhi

New Delhi, May 07 (ANI): A flight carrying medical supplies arrived in the national capital from Netherlands on May 07. It is the first shipment from Netherlands that carried 449 ventilators, 100 oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies. "Over the coming days, remaining medical equipment would be shipped. Value this support from our friend," tweeted MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.

COVID aid from Switzerland arrives in India

New Delhi, May 07 (ANI): A flight carrying medical supplies from Switzerland arrived in India on May 07. The shipment included 600 oxygen concentrators, 50 ventilators, and other medical supplies. Switzerland is among several countries that sent several emergency COVID-19 relief shipments to India during the tough time of COVID-19.

133 test COVID positive at Assam's tea estate

Dibrugarh (Assam), May 07 (ANI): Zaloni Tea Estate in Dibrugarh in Assam shut down now after 133 people tested positive for COVID-19 here. Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh, Pallav Gopal Jha said, "133 cases were detected at Zaloni Tea Estate till yesterday, all patients are asymptomatic. Tea estate has been declared as containment zone."

CM Kejriwal reviews newly installed oxygen plant at Delhi hospital

New Delhi, May 06 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Health Minister Satyendar Jain visited Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital on May 06 where an Oxygen Plant has been installed. "This is a 330 litres Oxygen Plant. This has the capacity to fill 50-60 cylinders daily. If supplied through a pipeline, it can cater to 33 patients for 24 hours. This will help the hospital. This is a 200-bed hospital," CM told ANI. Delhi has recorded 335 deaths, 19,133 new infections and 20,028 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Russia approves Sputnik's single-shot vaccine

New Delhi, May 06 (ANI): Russia on May 06 approved Sputnik Light, the single-dose vaccine against COVID-19. According to the information on Sputnik V's twitter handle, the single-dose vaccine has 79.4% overall efficacy against coronavirus, and is a "reliable pandemic fighter". Sputnik V, which is approved in 64 countries with a total population of over 3.2 billion people, has already started arriving in India for emergency use.

COVID -19: People rush to the airport before international flights halt

Kathmandu (Nepal), May 6 (ANI): Due to the surge in COVID cases and fatalities in Nepal, a cabinet meeting decided the closure of International Flights starting from Wednesday. Serpentine lines were seen outside the terminal of International Airport. On Wednesday, Tribhuwan International Airport remained packed with travelers before closure. Police personnel were seen requesting people to maintain social distancing. Nepal has announced to produce RT-PCR report before boarding the flight.

Strict 'Janta Curfew' in MP till May 15: CM Shivraj

Bhopal (MP), May 06 (ANI): To break the chain of transmission of coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on May 06 announced a strict lockdown (Janta Curfew) in the state till May 15. "To break the chain of transmission of corona in the state we have to completely shut everything till May 15, strict 'Janta Curfew'. We can't shut things for too long but with more than 18 % positivity we can't remain open," said CM Shivraj.

Around 280 jail inmates to be released on parole due to COVID from Meerut jail

Meerut (UP), May 06 (ANI): In view of COVID-19, around 280 jail inmates will be released on bail or parole from Meerut Jail. Inmates above 45-60 years of age have also been vaccinated. "Around 280 jail inmates to be released on bail or parole, in view of COVID. Regular sanitisation conducted in jail premises. The jail inmates are served immunity boosting 'kadha'. Inmates above 45 and 60 years of age have been vaccinated," said Senior Jail Superintendent of Meerut District Jail, BD Pandey.

50 oxygen beds set up in Noida

Mamata accuses BJP of fanning violence in Bengal through 'old videos'

Oxygen Express train carrying liquid medical oxygen arrives Delhi

New Delhi, May 05 (ANI): An Oxygen Express train carrying tankers of liquid medical oxygen reached Delhi on May 05. The train arrived from Jamnagar's Hapa at 2 am in the national capital. Delhi received 244 tonnes more oxygen in which 103.6 MT liquid oxygen. The train had 5 tankers.

At least 1 oxygen plant will be set up in each district in coming 3 months: DRDO Chairman

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy on May 04 said through PM Cares Fund, 500 oxygen plants will be established in various districts, at least one plant will be set up in each district in the coming three months. "Through PM Cares Fund we've ordered 380 plants from Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Trident Pneumatics Pvt. Ltd and 120 plants from CSIR industries. The first 5 plants will be established in Delhi of them two are being installed at AIIMSandRML Hospital," he said.
