States need to provide doses to vaccination centres in timely manner: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 14 said that COVID vaccines are in sufficient amount in the country and state governments need to deploy the doses at the vaccination centres in time. "There is no shortage of vaccines and Government of India gives vaccines to every state. It is job of states to provide doses to vaccination centres in time bound manner with meticulous planning," said Harsh Vardhan. He also said that production of Remdesivir, the anti-drug for COVID-19, has increased and strict actions will be taken against those who'll try to do black marketing of it.

Class 10 students to be promoted on basis of internal assessment: Education Minister

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in a press conference informed that the government has decided to promote the Class 10 students on the basis of the internal assessment and postpone the examinations of Class 12th students. For Class 10th students, he said, "if a student isn't satisfied with the assessment then he/she can appear for exam once the situation is normal."

TMC is anti-Dalit: JP Nadda

Purba Bardhaman (West Bengal), Apr 14 (ANI): During a public meeting at West Bengal's Purba Bardhaman, BJP chief JP Nadda pointed at CM Mamata Banerjeee for not commenting on 'anti-Dalit' statement by a TMC leader. "Today is Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar's 130th birth anniversary... Just now, a TMC leader used an offending word for Dalit brothers that I can't say here. I am sad by seeing that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has not yet condemned it. This is TMC's anti-Dalit face and we should understand this," said JP Nadda. TMC leader Sujata Mondal Khan made controversial remarks against Dalits as she equated them with beggars.

Promote Class 12th students as well on basis of internal assessment: Sisodia to Centre

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on April 14 urged Union Government to promote Class 12 students on the basis of internal assessment just the way 10th class students have been given permission according to new circular by Education Ministry of India. "I am happy that Class 10 exams are being cancelled and dates are being rescheduled for class 12 exams. Like Class 10 students, I appeal to the govt to promote Class 12 students on the basis of internal assessment," said Delhi's Deputy CM. "Board Exams for Class 10th cancelled and 12th postponed. Results of Class 10th will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Class 12th exams will be held later, the situation will be reviewed on 1st June by the Board," according to Education Ministry in view of rising COVID cases.

CM Yogi chairs meeting with COVID-19 management Team-11 after highest single-day spike

Lucknow (UP), Apr 12 (ANI): In the view of increasing COVID-19 cases, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on April 12 chaired a meeting with the officers of the COVID-19 management, Team-11. Uttar Pradesh reported 15,353 fresh COVID cases in past 24 hours. Fresh cases took the active tally to 71,241. The total death count has reached to 9,152. The government has imposed night curfew in parts of Uttar Pradesh on April 10.

COVID: 'Only 2% beds are occupied,' informs Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): In wake of the rising COVID cases in the national capital, Delhi government is planning to increase the quantity of beds for COVID patients. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed that only 2% beds are occupied. Satyendar Jain said, "We added 5,000 more beds last week and will add more. At present, there are 5,525 beds in Delhi. 190 beds are occupied which amounts to 2%. We have also requested central govt to increase beds to their current tally of 1,090." Delhi reported 10,774 new cases and 48 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total caseload of the national capital stood at 7,25,197.

Bomb hurled in North 24 Parganas, TMC and BJP accuse each other

Kumbh Mela 2021: Niranjani Akhada sadhus take holy dip in Haridwar

Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Apr 12 (ANI): On the occasion of the second shahi snan in Kumbh, Niranjani Akhada sadhus took a holy dip in river Ganga at Har Ki Pauri Ghat in Uttarakhand's Haridwar. Sadhus defy COVID SOPs during shahi snan. General public was allowed to take a dip till 7am. The first bath was held on March 11 on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Uttarakhand reported 1,333 new cases on April 11, taking the active caseload to 1,08,812.

Tika Utsav: Manipur CM receives 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Imphal (Manipur), Apr 12 (ANI): Chief Minister N Biren Singh received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on April 11 at the launch of 'Tika Utsav' at Imphal's Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences. Budding scientists ready with Rover to represent India at NASA challenge 2021

Cuttack (Odisha), Apr 12 (ANI): Cuttack-based Navonmesh Prasar Student Astronomy Team (NaPSAT), comprising of 10 school students, designed a rover to exhibit it at Nasa Human Rover Exploration Challenge 2021. "The rover has been designed for Artemis Mission 2024 (Moon mission) where the first woman and next man will be sent to Moon. The rover is capable of travelling on different kinds of martian terrains," a member of NaPSAT said in Cuttack yesterday.

Naxals set 5 vehicles on fire in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 11 (ANI): Five vehicles engaged in the construction of a water filter plant were put on the fire by naxals in Bijapur on April 11. It took place in Bijapur's Naimed police station limits. WTP is being built on the banks of Mingachal river to supply water to Bijapur town. CM Mamata campaigns with candle in hands, day after Cooch Behar poll violence

Bardhaman (WB), Apr 11 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a candle light march in Bardhaman on April 11 over the poll violence in Cooch Behar during the fourth phase of assembly elections on April 10. She was accompanied by TMC leaders and party workers. Huge crowd gathered to welcome her. Violence erupted at a polling booth in Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar during the fourth round of assembly elections on Saturday. Central Forces opened fire to stop a mob in which four persons were killed. CM Banerjee termed killing of persons in Cooch Behar during the assembly polls as 'genocide.' Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his sadness over the incident. He urged EC to strongly deal with those responsible for what happened in Cooch Behar. The next phase of the elections will take place on April 17.
