Maurya resigned as a UP Minister on January 11. Many political leaders are switching their sides ahead of Assembly elections. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections will be held from February 10 to March 07.
Lucknow, Jan 14 (ANI): Days after Swami Prasad Maurya’s exit from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet and from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mahan Dal, the ally of Samajwadi Party on January 13 said that people like Swami Prasad Maurya move from one party to another as elections come near. “He didn't raise his voice for our community when he was in BSP and BJP. Now, they are coming to SP, we welcome them but want them to raise voice for our people,” he added. Mahan Dal is contesting UP elections in alliance with Samajwadi Party.Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases from 10th Feb-7th March 2022. The counting of votes for all seven phases will be done on 10 March.
Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jan 13 (ANI): ?Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on January 13 informed that his party will not contest in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. “Sanjay Raut met me today regarding the farmers' protest that was held in Delhi. He invited me to Maharashtra. We are not contesting any elections,” said Tikait.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 13 (ANI): Reacting to the non-bailable warrant issued against him, just a day after resigning from the post of Uttar Pradesh Minister, Swami Prasad Maurya on January 13 said his morals are not going to weaken even if dozens of cases are registered against him. Maurya said, “A non-bailable warrant has been issued against me in an 8-year-old case. It's just 2nd day of my resignation (as UP min). Even if dozens of cases registered against me, my morale will not be weakened. The more they trouble me, the more strongly I'll defeat them.”
Mumbai, Jan 13 (ANI): With just weeks left before commencement of Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Nationalist Congress Party and Samajwadi Party have decided to contest elections together, informed NCP leader Nawab Malik on January 13. “We've decided to contest elections with Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. One seat has been announced and talks are on for other seats. We will support the alliance which is forming in UP,” said leader Malik.
New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on January 13 said that a very fruitful session was held regarding candidates on 172 Assembly seats of the state in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) Central Election Committee meeting in Delhi today. “We are hopeful of registering a glorious victory in the 2022 Assembly elections,” he added. Elections for the 403 assembly constituencies in UP will be held in seven phases starting February 10.
Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Jan 13 (ANI): Ahead of Uttarakhand Assembly Polls 2022 which is scheduled on February 14, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on January 13 said that their party’s manifesto will be released soon. “Everyone has only one goal for the upcoming Assembly Election in Uttarakhand to cross the mark of 60 seats. New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on January 13 said that his party will not be a part of any alliance in Uttar Pradesh. The clarification came ahead of the UP Assembly Elections that will be held from February 10 to March 07. "Shiv Sena will not be part of any alliance in UP. We have ideological differences with Samajwadi Party but we want a change in the state. We have been working for a long time in UP but didn't contest elections because we didn't want to hurt BJP," Sanjay Raut said.

Elections to be held in the state on February 14 to elect the 117 members for the legislative assembly.

His clarification came a day after the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Swami Prasad Maurya. “Even today, there is no such issue that my father wants a ticket for me or my sister. My father and the party will decide if I have to contest the election or they want me as a party worker for the upcoming Assembly polls,” Utkrisht Maurya Ashok said.

Lucknow (UP), Jan 11 (ANI): Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, State Cabinet Minister Swami Prasad Maurya on January 11 resigned from his ministerial post citing that the reason behind his resignation is government’s attitude. “I have resigned from the Yogi Cabinet keeping in mind the government's attitude against Dalits, backward classes, farmers, youths and traders. I will consult with my supporters and decided on joining another party,” said Swami Prasad Maurya.
