Panaji (Goa), Jan 20 (ANI): Ahead of Goa Assembly elections, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on January 20 said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the majority government in the state.“BJP Central Committee has released the list of 34 candidates out of 40 today. I am sure that the public will elect me once again. BJP will form majority government in Goa,” said Goa CM. Elections to be held in Goa on February 14 to elect 40 members of legislative Assembly.

New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): Ahead of the Goa Assembly Polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded the sitting Chief Minister Pramod Sawant from Sanquelim Assembly Constituency. The party also announced 34 candidates for the Goa Polls, and informed that the Goa Deputy CM Manohar Ajgaonkar will contest from Margaon in the upcoming elections. On being asked why Utpal Parrikar, son of late former CM Manohar Parrikar, was not given ticket to contest election from Panaji, BJP Leader Devendra Fadnavis informed that the sitting MLA from Panaji has been given the ticket, and Utpal Parrikar is being given more options. "Sitting MLA has been given ticket from Panaji. Utpal Parrikar, former Goa CM Manohar Parrikar's son, and his family are our family. We gave two more options to him but he rejected first one, and the second option is being discussed with him," said BJP leader Fadnavis.

AAP declares Amit Palekar as CM candidate for Goa Assembly Elections

Dona Paula (Goa), Jan 19 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declared Amit Palekar as the party's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Goa Assembly Polls on January 19. While making the announcement, the party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that Amit Palekar is an advocate by profession and comes from the Bhandari community.
