India's leading automobile manufacturer Tata Motors on Saturday inaugurated its third registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in Surat with a capacity to recycle 15,000 vehicles per year.
Named Re.Wi.Re  Recycle with Respect,' the third RVSF in Surat -- set up after Jaipur and Bhubaneswar -- uses environmentally-friendly processes and has the capacity to disassemble 15,000 end-of-life vehicles safely and sustainably each year, it said in a statement.
The RVSF is developed and operated by Tata Motors' partner Shree Ambica Auto to scrap end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands, it said.
"We are confident that these decentralised facilities will benefit our customers, foster economic growth, generate employment opportunities and fulfil the need of eco-friendly vehicle scrapping," Balaji said.
Re.Wi.Re. is purpose-built for dismantling end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles across all brands, with a focus on employing environmentally friendly practices.

US aerospace major Boeing on Thursday outlined its plan for enhancing engineering, manufacturing, and sustainment capabilities of the P-8I long-range maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft in India, eyeing an additional order of six planes.
At present, the Indian Navy has 12 P-8I aircraft.
The company said it had already generated a substantial economic impact, amounting to USD 1.7 billion to support the current P-8I aircraft fleet in service with the Indian Navy.
Boeing said it envisions that increasing the P-8I fleet to 18 aircraft will increase investments, approximately USD 1.5 billion, while creating further indigenisation opportunities within India's aerospace and defence sector by 2032.

A special court in Chhattisgarh's Raipur has issued notices to two Congress MLAs and seven others accused in a money laundering case related to an alleged coal levy scam.
The court has asked the alleged accused to appear before it on October 25.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed the second supplementary chargesheet in the case in the court of 4th Additional District and Sessions Judge Ajay Singh Rajput last month naming 11 persons, including Congress legislators Devendra Singh Yadav and Chandradev Prasad Rai and IAS officer Ranu Sahu, as accused, special public prosecutor Saurabh Kumar Pande said.
The special court on Saturday registered the second supplementary chargesheet and issued notices to nine of the 11 accused, as Sahu and one Nikhil Chandrakar were already arrested in the case, he said.
Besides legislators Yadav and Rai, Congress leaders RP Singh and Vinod Tiwari are also among the nine accused.

The mortal remains of casual labourers of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) who die at work will be transported to their homes on government expense, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday.
Singh made the announcement in a post in Hindi on 'X.
The Defence Ministry in a statement earlier in the day said Singh has approved the extension of facility of preservation and transportation of mortal remains, available for General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) personnel of the BRO, to casually paid labourers (CPLs).
Singh in his post said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "sensitive towards the welfare of all the workers".
Keeping this in mind, it has been decided in the Defence Ministry that if workers  engaged on a short-term basis die due to any reason during the construction work of BRO projects, then their mortal remains will be safely transported to their homes, Singh wrote in the post.
