	Omar Abdullah&#39;s political career began in 1998 when he was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha, representing the Srinagar constituency. In 2001, he was appointed as the Minister of State for External Affairs in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, making him the youngest minister to hold the position at the time.</div>

	In 2002, Abdullah was elected as the president of the JKNC, succeeding his father, Farooq Abdullah. His tenure as Chief Minister was marked by efforts to improve infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the region, as well as addressing security concerns and fostering dialogue for peace and development.</div>
