Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.
Patel Engineering's Managing Director Kavita Shirvaikar said, "Our focus remains on delivering long-term value for our stakeholders while continuously enhancing operational efficiency and output."

The Mumbai-based engineering, procurement, and construction firm has a strong presence in tunnels and underground works for hydroelectric and dam projects.

Tina Ambani, former actor and wife of Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, is expected to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday for questioning in a money-laundering case.
This is the second summons issued to 69-year-old Tina Ambani.
She was issued the first summons to depose before the federal probe agency here on February 10 but she had skipped it.
She was then issued a fresh summons, asking her to appear before the ED on February 17.
There was no immediate response from ED officials on the development.
Once Tina Ambani deposes, she will be questioned and her statement will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials had said.
Anil Ambani, 66, has also been asked to depose before the agency on February 18 for the second time as part of the investigation linked to multiple Reliance Group companies and their bank loans. He first appeared before the ED in August 2025.

Bakery company Britannia Industries will invest to fight the "regional competition" against small players and in e-commerce to become stronger in product categories like biscuits, rusk, cake, croissants and wafers.
As part of its strategy, Britannia will have a "startup mentality" to compete with small players having influence in small pockets, said Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Rakshit Hargave.
"We are going to be fighting regional competition, we are going to be investing in e-commerce, yes, that will require more funds. We are committed to invest that. We believe that the opportunity for us to drive topline better is definitely there," said Hargave in an investors' call.
He stressed that driving topline growth was critical to expanding Britannia's consumer base across its portfolio of brands, and the company would take a "pragmatic view" of balancing ambition with resources.

Reliance Consumer Products, the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, on Monday said it has signed a definitive agreement to form a majority-owned joint venture with Nigerian conglomerate Tropical General Investments Group.
This partnership will significantly expand RCPL's global footprint by establishing its presence in Nigeria, one of Africa's largest consumer markets, said a joint statement.
Through this partnership, which is subject to customary legal and regulatory clearances, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) will introduce its FMCG products to consumers in Nigeria, leveraging TGI's FMCG manufacturing and distribution experience and network, it added.

Tata Group retail firm Trent is eyeing further expansion into tier 3 and tier 4 cities amid a macro market which is expected to be far more attractive in the coming years, a top company executive said on Monday.
He also said that urban demand seems to be coming back gradually post GST 2.0 reforms but ruled out small-ticket discretionary getting benefit in the long-term due to the changeover.
"We are opening a lot more in tier-3, tier-4 cities now, as opposed to what we used to do in the past. Regulatory sandboxes are necessary to ensure that startups and other players can build things in a controlled environment within the guardrails without stifling innovation, a senior official at the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) said on Monday.
Speaking at a session at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in the national capital, IFSCA's Chief Technology Officer Joseph Joshy also said he would look at the things through the regulatory lens.
The five-day summit -- which will see a host of heads of state and government, overseas representatives and industry players, among others -- commenced on Monday.
"We need to ensure that there are regulatory sandboxes among regulators so that there are guardrails... (so that) before regulations come startups and others can build things in a controlled environment so that you don't stifle innovation and that you encourage it within the guardrails," Joshy said.
