Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops

State Bank of India August 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

The August 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8672, near Nifty's spot closing of 8672.15 in the cash market. The Nifty September 2016 futures traded at 8720, a premium of 47.85 points compared with the spot closing for the index.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 3.21 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 4.62 lakh crore registered yesterday, 11 August 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty rose 80 points or 0.93% to settle at 8,672.15, its highest closing level since 9 August 2016.

State Bank of India, Aditya Birla Nuvo, Grasim Industries, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Hindalco Industries were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. State Bank of India August 2016 futures traded at 244.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 243.45. Aditya Birla Nuvo August 2016 futures traded at 1278, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1276.80. Grasim Industries August 2016 futures traded at 4549.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 4533.90.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries August 2016 futures traded at 800.30, at a premium compared with spot closing of 796.40. Hindalco Industries August 2016 futures traded at 146.25, near spot closing of 146.25.

The August 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 August 2016. The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016.
