Cold conditions persist in parts of Punjab, Haryana

Cold weather conditions prevailed at many places in Punjab and Haryana with Hisar recording a low of 3.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
The minimum temperature in Amritsar settled at 6.1 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department said.
The night temperature at Ludhiana and Patiala dropped slightly since yesterday to settle at 8.2 degrees Celsius and 8.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Narnaul registered a low of 5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Karnal was 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the MeT department issued a warning in the
evening stating that cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in next three days while weather is likely to remain dry in both the states.
With the region today reeling under piercing cold conditions, the maximum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana dropped several notches below normal.
Chandigarh recorded maximum at 16.2 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal while Ambala and Hisar braved cold conditions at 17 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
Maximum of Karnal and Narnual was 16.2 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius, up to three notches below normal.
Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures at 16.1, 16.8 and 16.7 degrees Celsius respectively, up to two notches below normal.
