"Investigation is going on smoothly (into cop-militant nexus) by a special investigation team," a police spokesman said.
A policeman and a former militant were arrested recently in connection with over a dozen militant attacks in Srinagar over the past one year including an attempt on the life of Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar.
Earlier, three policemen were arrested for their alleged involvement in a gun-running racket in the city.
"Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, Ashiq Bukhari, is heading the special investigation team and the progress is being reviewed on day-to-day basis," the spokesman said.
He denied media reports that some senior police officers are hampering the probe into police-militant nexus.
