"Four hardcore criminals -- Bittoo alias Kausar alias Chikna, Sahadat Ali, Murshied alias Mursalim and Mukesh -- all resident of Jahangirpuri, were arrested on Wednesday on a tip- off that they would be coming to Mukherjee Nagar area and pass through Burari picket to sell some stolen goods in Kingsway Camp," DCP (North West district) P Karunakaran said.
Police signalled an autorickshaw carrying them to stop but they tried to escape and were overpowered, he said.
During interrogation, the men confessed that on last Tuesday, Chikna alongwith his associates broke into two flats in Sarita Vihar locality and had stolen jewellery, two laptops and Rs 20,000 in cash, the official said.
Police have recovered four gold bangles and Rs 59,500 in cash from them.
