Punjab on top in milk production

He said the state has the highest milk availability of 944 gm per person in the country.

Ranike said Punjab's feat in the field of milk production came after the record production of 179 lakh MT of wheat last season.

He said an average daily milk production by a cow in the state of Punjab was 10.947 kg, which was highest in the country.

While cows of local breed in Punjab produced highest 6.501 kg milk a day, local buffaloes too have also shown great improvement by producing 8.585 kg milk, which was also highest in the country.
