Integrated power firm Tata Power on Wednesday said the company has resumed operations at Mundra Plant with an installed capacity of 4,150 MW, after a gap of almost nine months. The company had suspended operations at all units of Mundra plant on July 2, 2025 and has been suffering losses due to temporary closure of the plant. "With reference to the temporary suspension of company operations of its units located at Mundra, we hereby inform you that the company has resumed its operations at Mundra Plant with an installed capacity of 4,150 MW," it said in a regulatory filing. Last month, Tata Power informed bourses that its arm Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), which operates Mundra plant, has signed supplementary power purchase agreements (PPA) with GUVNL (Gujarat). According to the regulatory filing, the company had to ink PPAs with Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. Tata Power on Wednesday announced the commissioning of two transmission lines - 400 Kilovolt (Kv) TandaGonda and 400kV GondaBasti double-circuit line spanning 154 circuit kilometres (Ckm) in Uttar Pradesh. With this milestone, the company has now commissioned all Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission lines and substations under the South East UP Power Transmission Company Limited (SEUPPTCL) project, a company statement said. According to the statement, the network now comprises three 765 kV lines comprising 951 Ckm, fourteen 400 kV lines comprising 566 Ckm, and three 765/400 kV substations with 3460 MVA transformation capacity across the state. Tata Power is expanding its footprint in the home automation space, relying on rising mass acceptance of Internet of Things (IoT)-based products, a senior company official said here on Tuesday. The power major, which forayed into the retail home automation segment last year, is targeting one crore households with IoT-enabled converters and other products as part of a rapid expansion strategy, its renewable and automation head Kaushik Sanyal said. "We are growing at around 60 per cent, but growth will be unprecedented with this device. My aim is to take this to one crore households," Sanyal said at the launch of the company's EZ Home Automation Solutions in Kolkata. Tata Power currently operates in nine cities and plans to expand to 100 cities within three years, he said. The World Bank has approved the USD 815 million long-term finance package for 1,125 megawattDorjilung Hydropower Project, in which Tata Power holds 40 per cent share. The remaining 60 per cent in the special purpose vehicle (SPV) is held by Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC). The Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank has approved and sanctioned long-term financing for the 1,125 MWDorjilung Hydropower Project (DHPL), Tata Power said in statement. The financing package includes a USD 150 million grant and a USD 150 million credit from the International Development Association (IDA) and a USD 15 million enclave loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to DGPC (Government of Bhutan). The package also includes as a USD 200 million IBRD enclave loan and a USD 300 million loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited (DHPL). Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) will set up a greenfield 10 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 6,675 crore. The project will be the largest ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in the country, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh's position as a leading hub for advanced solar manufacturing, state government officials said. The project has been cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The facility will be developed at the IFFCO Kisan Special Economic Zone, where the Government of Andhra Pradesh has earmarked 200 acres for the project, including 120 acres for the initial phase and 80 acres for future expansion.
