Essar Shipping has appointed Anoop Sharma as the Managing Director of the company. Sharma joined Essar in 2008 and until recently, served as CEO & wholetime director on the company's board.

The company operates a diversified fleet of 26 vessels, including VLCCs, Capesize, Mini-capesize, Supramaxes, mini-bulk carriers and tugs.

Its Oilfields Services business provides contract drilling services to oil & gas companies across the globe. This business owns one semi-submersible rig and 14 land rigs. The company has two new jack-up rigs on order.
