Fire at CNBC-TV18's Lower Parel office in Mumbai

Broadcast was interrupted for more than an hour because of the untoward incident

CNBC-TV18, India’s oldest business news channel, was forced to shut its operations as the store of the channel caught fire around the time the financial markets were closing.

The employees were evacuated from the building and fire brigade reached the Empire Mills Compound where the office is located.

The broadcast of the channel was interrupted for more than an hour before the fire was brought under control and operations could be resumed.
