L&T bags order worth Rs 1,164 crore

Larsen and Toubro (L&T), a leading technology, engineering and construction company has bagged orders worth Rs 1,164 crore for its metallurgical and water operating division.

A major order from a Tata Steel Ltd joint venture worth Rs 523 crore for its minerals and metals business for 6,00,000 tonnes per year (TPY) continuous annealing and processing line (CAPL) for production of high grade rolled steel sheet. Nippon Steel Engineering to provide technology and imported line equipment. The project is scheduled to complete in 30 months.

The water unit has secured orders worth Rs 530.84 crore from Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board for water supply schemes in Hongenakkal. Funded by Japan International Co-operation Agency, the scope of the work includes supply and laying pipelines with an execution period of 24 months with a maintenance period of 60 months.

 

In another development, L&T received orders worth Rs 110.60 crore from Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Division for construction of Sewage Treatment Plant in Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar with a contract period of 12 months.
