Morgan Stanley, EY top 2021 M&A league table, Barclays in third spot

M&A activity by Indian companies rose to $61 billion in 2021 as compared to $56.7 billion reported in calendar 2020

Morgan Stanley and EY have topped the M&A league tables for calendar 2021, as per the data available till date. Barclays, with market share of 13.6 per cent, was third in the league tables.

M&A activity by the Indian companies rose to $61 billion in 2021 as compared to $56.7 billion  reported in calendar 2020. While calendar 2020 saw several global giants including Facebook and Google buying stakes in Reliance Jio Platforms, the biggest transaction in 2021 was Prosus (PayU) acquisition of Indiaideas.com (BillDesk). The acquisition of DHFL by Piramal and SB Energy acquisition by Adani group also topped the list.
