BS 200 SCORECARD

BS Reporter Bangalore
Bangalore-based Rajesh Exports has registered 25 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 21.16 crore for the second quarter (ended September 30) of 2006-07 compared with Rs 16.92 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005.

Total sales of the company also increased 38.92 per cent at Rs 1,712.22 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 1,232.45 crore for the same quarter of 2005-06. Earnings per share of the company rose to Rs 5.73 from Rs 4.83 in the September quarter.

According to Chairman Rajesh Mehta, the growth in revenues has been primarily owing to rise in exports. He said the company's R&D division had developed a special festival collection range of jewellery, and it got a very warm response from the international and domestic markets.

The R&D division had also developed 3,000 exclusive designs for the retail arm of the company, and the order book position, as on date, was Rs 1,135 crore, Mehta added.
