DATA STORY: India has added 16,600 Covid cases a day on average in past 10 days

India has so far vaccinated 24,367,906 people. That is 216.7072 per cent of its total caseload, and 1.6562 per cent of its population

India on Wednesday reported a net reduction of 2,864 to take its count of active coronavirus cases to 184,598. That is 81.86 per cent lower than the September 18 peak of 1,017,754. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 0.85 per cent (one in 118). The country is 13^th among the most affected countries by active cases. On Wednesday, it added 17,921 cases to take its total caseload to 11,262,707. And, with 133 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 158,063, or 1.40 per cent of total confirmed infections.
