Delhi Metro services were delayed earlier on Saturday morning due to a technical glitch at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station, causing a lot of trouble for commuters.

The Noida/Vaishali to Dwaraka route remained shut for almost an hour and a half between 8:30 am and 10:05 pm.

"Usually it takes me around 18 minutes to reach Tagore Garden from Dwarka station. Today, it took more than 50 minutes, and that in an overcrowded coach," a commuter said.

"Metro halted at Yamuna Bank station for almost an hour. We are facing such inconvenience even after DMRC has hiked metro fares by about 100%," said another commuter.

Due to rush at Metro stations and high demand due to the Bhai Dooj festival, some commuters also faced difficulty in book app-based taxis like Ola and Uber.

According to reports, the Pantograph of a train got entangled in Overhead Equipment (OHE) between Rajiv Chowk and R K Ashram section while approaching the Rajiv Chowk station.

The train services were regulated on Line-3 in short loops between Yamuna Bank and Noida/Vaishali, between Karol Bagh and Dwarka Sector-21 and in single line between the Karol Bagh and Yamuna Bank section.

The Delhi Metro informed that the OHE team undertook the restoration work in the affected section on down line and train was removed from service at 10:05 am, after which the train movement was restored.

Blue Line snag

The two branches of Blue Line (Line 3/4), that have gained considerable infamy due to frequent snags, connects Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre and Vaishali.
With around five interchange stations along its length, around 30 per cent of the total passenger volume travels on Blue line.

Several commuters, struck at stations, took to Twitter to vent their anger:
