FASTag may be made mandatory for buying third-party insurance from April

The National Highways Authority of India introduced FASTags that uses radio frequency identification technology and allows cars to pass tolls without stopping for payment
Some stakeholders say that the proposal, which has not reached insurance companies for comments yet, needs to be properly evaluated

Come April 1, car owners might not be able to obtain a third-party insurance cover if they do not have FASTags for their cars.
