Compared to Sunday, petrol and diesel prices saw a fall of 22 paise and 20 paise respectively in Delhi.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices are being retailed at Rs 84.06 per litre (decrease by 22 paise) and Rs 76.67 per litre (decrease by 21 paise) respectively.
According to the revised prices issued by Indian Oil, petrol now costs Rs 80.47 against Rs 80.89 on Sunday in Kolkata and Rs 81.61 (decrease by 45 paise) in Chennai.
After the revision, diesel price has fallen below Rs 78-mark in Chennai. The fuel is being retailed at 77.34 (decrease by 27 paise) per litre in the city.
In Kolkata, diesel now costs Rs 75.02 against 75.39 per litre on Sunday.
Fuel prices had earlier witnessed a relentless hike in the country, burning a hole in the commuter's pocket.
The consecutive cuts in fuel prices came after petrol and diesel prices touched record high levels across the country.
On October 4, petrol had surged to a record high of Rs 84 and diesel had gone up to Rs 75.45 in Delhi.
