The headline figure for this year’s Annual Status of Education Report has been the rise in government school enrolments across the country compared to the pre-pandemic period. While government school enrolments had reduced to 64.3 per cent for children aged 6-14, in 2018, the pandemic has reversed the trend with over 70 per cent enrolled in government schools across the country.
