Syndicate Bank to recruit 99 specialist officers

Syndicate Bank has invited applications from Indian Citizens for appointment of specialist officers in various verticals/scales. The public sector bank is looking at recruiting 99 officers and the last date to apply is March 14, 2017.

Eligibility criteria

For the post of Manager (Law), the candidate needs to have a bachelor degree in Law (LLB) with a minimum 2-year experience of practice at bar/judicial service or as law officer in the legal department of a reputed commercial bank. Candidates keen on Manager (Security Officer) position need to be an Officer with 5 years commissioned service in the army/navy/air force or a police officer not below the rank of ASP/DSP with 5 years of service or officers of identical rank in paramilitary forces with 05 years service. Territorial army officers should have minimum 5 years of embodied service.
 
Interested candidates for Chartered Accountants posts should be qualified Chartered Accountant. Those with banking experience will be given preference. For the post of Assistant Manager (Technical- Civil), candidates need have a BTech /BE degree in civil with minimum 50% aggregate mark. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, minimum 45% is needed.
 
Candidates keen on Assistant Manager (Technical - Electrical) post need to have a BTech /BE degree in engineering with minimum 50% aggregate mark. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, minimum 45% is needed.

Application process

Interested candidates are required to apply online’ only. Any other form of application will be rejected. Applicants need to:

  2. Click on the Careers tab.
  3. Click on the link to apply online in the Recruitment of Specialist Officers tab
  4. Register to the site and log in.
  5. Fill in the details in the fields provided and click on Submit
  6. Pay the application fee
  7. Upload the photograph and signature
  8. Download a copy of the application and take a print out for further reference.
 
Candidates can apply only for one post. Multiple Applications will be summarily rejected.

Selection procedure
 
Candidates keen on the Manager (Law), CA & Technical Officer position, in JMG/S- I, need to take an online test. Successful candidates will be called for group discussion (GD) or interview.  For the post of Manager (Security), bank may decide to conduct online test and/or GD/interview depending on the number of eligible candidates applying for the posts indicated. For the purpose of GD/interview, eligible candidates will be shortlisted and will be called for GD / interview. Candidates possessing more than prescribed work experience in the relevant discipline shall get preference.
 
Wherever online test is conducted, candidates shall be called for GD / interview on the basis of their performance in the online test. The exams are likely to be conducted at cites in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Belgaum, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam.
 
GD/ interview will be conducted to assess the candidate’s personality, level of communication, clarity & problem solving innovativeness, level of efficiency, willingness to work in any part of the country, suitability for the post etc. The minimum qualifying marks would be 40% for General Category and 35% for reserved category. Candidates not clearing the GD/interview will not be considered for final selection.
 
The candidates who are selected for MMGS-II will be on probation for one year while those selected for JMGS-I will have a 2-year probation period. Those selected for any post will be liable for a transfer anywhere in India.
 
 
Examination pattern

The exam will be divided in four parts, each with a weightage of 50 marks. The first section will contain questions on reasoning; the second will test the candidates’ quantitative aptitude; the third section will contain questions based on the professional knowledge relevant to the post of the candidates’ choosing and; the final section will test the candidate on their knowledge. Candidates will have two hours to answer all sections.
