A three-day conference will be held in the city targeting women entrepreneurs to explore potential opportunities in setting up green enterprises and to promote innovative and resource efficient entrepreneurships.
The conference titled 'Green Enterprises and Green Industrial Parks', starting from July 18, will bring together the industry, government and technology/service providers for focused deliberations on the concepts and cases of green enterprises and green industrial parks.
The Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (Aleap), in cooperation with the MSME ministry, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and the German-government owned GIZ, is organising the conference. The expected footfalls is about 300 from within India as well as outside for the international conference.
Speaking to the media, Rama Devi, president, Aleap, said: "We see huge opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the areas of waste management, renewable technologies, cost-effective common infrastructure, food packaging. However, more interactions with the industry at the international level would empower women to take up enterpreneurial route."
The association has been training around 10,000 women every year in industry practices and is imparting skills at its Centre for Entrepreneur Development, she said.
Aleap expects the finalisation of Green Industrial Park (GRIP) masterplan for its third industrial estate at Nandigama village in Medak by this month-end. GRIP is expected to see an investment of Rs 150-crore from 200 women entreprenurs who are planning to set up their units there.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is providing technical support to Aleap in this regard.
