Driven by higher prices, the Wholesale Price Index based inflation for the week ended May 3 rose to 7.83 per cent compared to 5.74 per cent during the corresponding week in the previous year.

</p><p class='TableClas'>The goverment also revised inflation for the week ended March 8 to 7.78 per cent as compared to 5.92 per cent reported earlier.</P></p></table>
