The Madhya Pradesh chief minister, other ministers, the leader of opposition and MLAs are set to get a hike in salaries and allowances. The state assembly passed three amendment Bills in this regard with voice vote and without any opposition.
While the chief minister will get a salary of Rs 30,000, other allowances will take his package to a total of Rs two lakh a month from existing Rs 1.43 lakh. The speaker of the assembly will receive Rs 1.85 lakh, inclusive of allowances, up from Rs 1.20 lakh currently. A Member of the Legislative Assembly will get a salary and allowance package of Rs 1.10 lakh (Rs 71,000). State cabinet rank ministers will get a salary and allowances of Rs 1.70 lakh (Rs 1.20 lakh) and ministers of states will get a salary and allowance of Rs 1.50 lakh (1.03 lakh).
Parliament Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra on Friday tabled two Bills -- the Madhya Pradesh Ministers (salaries and allowance) Amendment Bill 2016, and Madhya Pradesh Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Leader of Opposition (salaries and allowance) Amendment Bill 2016. The House passed both Bills with voice vote without any opposition or debate.

State for General Administration Department, Minister Lal Singh Arya, tabled another Bill “Madhya Pradesh Members of Assembly (Salaries, Allowances and Pension) Amendment Bill 2016, which was also passed with voice-vote. The Bill was passed to enhance pension of former MLAs.
n Madhya Pradesh Assembly was today adjourned sine-die after the house passed salary and emoluments bill which effects a substantial hike in the salaries of MLAs and passed the budget for financial year 2016-17.
The other day state cabinet had approved hike in salaries and allowances of the ministers, speaker and members of legislative assembly. It was a hike after six years. The House adjourned today sine-die.
