Maharashtra last in per-capita public capex; Bengal leads in spend increase

West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab and UP have shown the highest increase in public capex in the last four years

While Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka are the states that lead capital spending in absolute terms, the per person productive spending by state exchequer is smaller in Maharashtra than the relatively under-developed peers. West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab and UP have shown the highest increase in public capex in the last four years, over the preceding 4 years
