Outlook for kharif season favourable as sowing is 44% more than 2019: ICRA

Benefiting from favourable moisture conditions, seasonally high reservoir levels and returnee labourers, at least in some parts of the country, ICRA expects agricultural gross value addition to rise by 3.5 to 4 per cent in the current financial year FY21.

The outlook for kharif season (June to October) remains favourable as sowing was 44.1 per cent higher than the year-ago level and more than half of the 2019 kharif acreage had been covered, investment information firm ICRA has said.
