Political discourse galore on Kejriwal's train to Varanasi

In Arvind Kejriwal's train to the battleground of Varanasi, every passenger was armed with a crucial weapon - queries.

On board the Shiv Ganga Express, it did not take much time for the people in the nearby coaches to figure out that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief is travelling with them to Varanasi.

Clad in a check shirt, trousers, Kejriwal came, accompanied by his wife and two children.

However, not everyone is ready to face a celebrity politician. Two Japanese students in the compartment had no idea that a former chief minister would be travelling in the same train and were surprised when they were greeted with flashlights.

D P Das, a government employee who happily exchanged his seat in AAP chief's coach, associated himself to Kejriwal, an IIT-Kharagpur passout, with the "West Bengal connection".

After struggling to reach the train amid the crowd, which surrounded him at the New Delhi railway station, Kejriwal along with the security personnel arrived in his 3AC compartment half-an-hour before the departure.

A 12-year-old school girl, on learning that her "future leader" is at a stone's throw, tells him: "Sir, on my way to school, there is lot of pollution. Do something (about it)." Kejriwal retorts: "Just tell all your colony friends to vote for the jhadu this time."

Hamaji Singh, a Gurgaon resident, came from a far end of the train and is ready with a volley of questions. Her queries range from why he quit the Delhi government to why should the AAP be given a chance?

However, Singh admits she was not content the replies but happy that he is "accessible".

Kejriwal's 13-year-old son Pulkit is feeling proud that his father is taking on Modi. But when asked if he will also become a politician someday, he proudly says, "I have full faith in my father that he will clean up the entire system - if not in 2014, in 2019 we will win," the young Kejriwal says.
