EC notice to Pawar for 'vote twice' comment

The EC said Pawar had "prima facie" violated the pre-election code of conduct, and asked him to explain his stand by Thursday evening

BS ReporterPTI
Political parties on Monday asked the Election Commission (EC) to take action against the NCP and its chief Sharad Pawar for his "vote twice" comment. The BJP wanted action against Pawar. The Shiv Sena, Republican Party of India and Aam Aadmi Party called for NCP's de-recognition and disqualification.

The EC said Pawar had "prima facie" violated the pre-election code of conduct, and asked him to explain his stand by Thursday evening.

Pawar had on Sunday asked his party workers to vote twice in the multi-phase polling in Maharashtra after rubbing off the indelible ink.
