Political parties on Monday asked the Election Commission (EC) to take action against the NCP and its chief Sharad Pawar for his "vote twice" comment. The BJP wanted action against Pawar. The Shiv Sena, Republican Party of India and Aam Aadmi Party called for NCP's de-recognition and disqualification.
The EC said Pawar had "prima facie" violated the pre-election code of conduct, and asked him to explain his stand by Thursday evening.
