Shares of automobile companies including auto ancillary firms traded lower for the second straight day on Tuesday, with the Nifty Auto index falling nearly 4 per cent on profit booking and concerns that higher oil prices could hurt sales.
Hero MotoCorp, Escorts, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, Bosch, Ashok Leyland and Minda Corp were down in the range of 4 per cent to 6 per cent on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
At close, the Nifty Auto index stood at 7,020.75 levels, down 3.83 per cent, as compared to 1.69 per cent decline in Nifty 50 index. In the
