Cardamom prices fell by Rs 17.90 to Rs 815 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from producing regions put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September fell by Rs 17.90, or 2.15%, to Rs 815 per kg, with a business turnover of 84 lots.

October cardamom declined by Rs 10.80, or 1.05%, to Rs 1,012 per kg, with a business turnover of 225 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking at existing higher levels, a fall in demand in the spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
